Kam Stutts is leaning on relationships to lead the offensive line room
Hugh Freeze took the head coaching job with the Auburn Tigers and quickly did something to change the offensive line situation on the Plains.
He added key transfers like center Avery Jones from East Carolina, tackle Dillon Wade from Tulsa, and tackle Gunner Britton from Western Kentucky. Between transfers and high school recruits, he's brought in nine offensive linemen to completely flip the room.
Among the incumbents that welcomed the new faces was Kam Stutts, who represented Auburn in Nashville at SEC Media Days. He highlighted how important those relationships are.
"Obviously, with a lot of new dudes coming in, you got to build those relationships and that chemistry," Stutts said. "And I think we've done a really good job of doing that. Focusing on the details whenever you got a lot of older dudes, that opens you up to do a little bit more and a little bit more freedom to do things how you want to do. So I think just focusing on those details and building those relationships has been really good."
When jokingly asked if he ever looks around and wonders what team he was on with all of the new faces, he leaned back into the relationships that have been formed already.
"I think we've done a really good job getting to know each other," Stutts said. "Every single dude in that room is a good guy and everybody's working really hard. And I'm just excited about getting to go out there and battle with those guys."
