Auburn football offers James Madison EDGE Isaac Ukwu
Auburn football has reached out to a strong EDGE player in the transfer portal.
Isaac Ukwu, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound EDGE rusher from James Madison, has been offered by the Tigers.
Ukwu is one of the most experienced players in all of college football, having spent six seasons with the Dukes. He missed the 2017, 2019 and 2020 seasons with injuries. In 2022 he started all 11 games for JMU at defensive end, collecting 40 total tackles, 10.5 TFL and 7.5 sacks.
In 2021, Ukwu had 43 total tackles, 16.5 TFL and 9.5 sacks.
He would be an incredibly valuable edition to Auburn's thin EDGE unit.
The Tigers have now had five players depart from the program within the last couple of weeks, including three backup linebackers:
Wide Receiver Tar'Varish Dawson
Defensive lineman Jeffrey M'ba
Linebacker Kameron Brown
Linebacker Desmond Tisdol
Linebacker Powell Gordon
Auburn has pulled in an impressive haul thus far during Hugh Freeze's first season on the Plains, currently sitting at No. 3 nationally in 247Sports' transfer portal class rankings.
