    ESPN FPI predicts Auburn football's 2023 schedule

    ESPN's FPI still doesn't have anything nice to say about the Tigers' upcoming season.

    ESPN has yet to update their Football Power Index (FPI) since the spring, and they have refused to change their stance in their matchup predictor for individual games.

    Auburn is still going 5-7 in ESPN's FPI. As it stands, that's their prediction for the Tigers' 2023 season.

    Here is how they believe it shakes out:

    Vs UMass (Sept. 2nd)

    ESPN FPI prediction - Alabama (91.5% chance of victory)

    Final 2023 record: 5-7 (2-6 SEC)

    Auburn will fail to beat Cal, a low-tier Pac 12 school with a mediocre offense, but will defeat Mississippi State, a team that went 9-4 last season with an All-SEC quarterback returning.

    The Tigers also have a better chance of beating Georgia than they do Alabama. Interesting.
