NCAA's college football transfer window has been changed

The transfer window is now open right after spring training.

The transfer portal window has now been moved up.

Effective immediately

Starting this Spring, the portal transfer notification window has been moved from May 1-15 to April 15-30. This was another proposed rule change back from the October meetings of the NCAA meetings of the Division 1a council. The council has now adopted the proposal and made it effective immediately.

Moving the NCAA portal closer to the end of most teams’ football Spring training will allow a better opportunity for players and coaches to have conversations about the status of players within the program. This will give the student-athletes a better opportunity to investigate other programs to see where they might fit better and do so prior to summer classes and athletic activities.

This will also allow coaches more time and a better opportunity to work with new players. It will give players more time to move and adjust to their new surroundings and acclimate themselves to a new program. Truly a move that benefits all who will be involved in the portal window.

Excitement beyond the Spring game for Auburn

This rule change means that a week after Auburn’s A-day game this weekend, the portal will open, and we should see another influx of players for this coaching staff that has already looted the portal to fulfill the needs of this program.

Stay tuned to Auburn Daily as we will have wall-to-wall coverage of all the comings and goings of the portal that affect the Auburn Tigers.
