Auburn Briefing: Nick Saban's retirement could make the "Freeze Five" a reality

The "Freeze Five" could become a reality thanks to Nick Saban's retirement.
In this story:

News shocked the college football world yesterday as Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban announced he would be retiring.

Saban's time at Alabama brought Auburn fans some high highs and low lows, but the Iron Bowl was always special with him across the field.

One positive for Auburn fans surrounding Saban's retirement is the recruitment of five-star Ryan Williams.

Minutes after news broke that Saban was retiring, Williams decommitted, and a crystal ball was submitted for the Tigers to land the star wideout.

Auburn has been trying to flip Williams for a while to complete the "Freeze Five," which would be Cam Coleman, Perry Thomson, Bryce Cain, Malcolm Simmons, and, of course, Williams.

This would not only be the best receiver class in Auburn football history but would be one of the best in college football history.

Williams will take a visit to Texas A&M this weekend as his primary recruiter at Alabama, Holmon Wiggins, took the receivers coach job in College Station.

If Coach Freeze is able to get the job done and land Williams, Auburn's receiver class will be set for years to come.
