There was a ton of preseason hype surrounding the Denver Broncos as they brought in Sean Payton to coach the team, but it has been a dumpster fire early.

Some of the optimism around this team was the Super Bowl Champion Russell Wilson would be better in his second season in Denver.

While Wilson's numbers have been better this season than they were a year ago, the team is still losing.

The Broncos are 1-5 on the year so far, with the one win being over the Chicago Bears, who, like the Broncos, are one of the worst teams in the league.

This slow start has some Broncos beat writers/fans wondering why former Auburn quarterback from Texas, Jarrett Stidham, doesn't get a shot to turn this thing around.

Stidham showed flashes with the Raiders last season and with the Broncos in the preseason this season that he can compete in the NFL.

Wilson has been a name floating around as a potential trade candidate, and if that were to happen, Stidham would be gifted the keys to the Broncos offense.

Thanks to the season and a half Wilson has put together in Denver, the trade bringing him to the Broncos from the Seahawks could go down as one of the worst in history.

All Auburn fans can agree that if Stidham is given a chance, he will shine for the Denver Broncos and perhaps establish himself as a starter in the NFL.
