This former Auburn Tiger stopped the Philadelphia Eagles' "Tush Push"

The Auburn Tigers showed up in the NFL playoffs.

The NFL Playoffs kicked off this weekend, and we saw a handful of former Auburn Tigers on the field.

The game where we saw the most Auburn Tigers was when the NFC South Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round, and the Buccaneers got the 32-9 win. The Eagles came into this game struggling and banged up and paid the price with a first-round exit. The Buccaneer's defense held the Eagles to under 300 yards of total offense.

A big reason why the Buccaneer's defense was so good was thanks to three former Auburn Tigers. Jamel Dean led the Bucs with ten tackles, including a tackle for loss. Carlton Davis III had four tackles and two pass deflections. KJ Britt did the impossible, which was stopping the Eagle's "Tush Push"/"Brotherly Shove." Some will say this should have been a face mask, but it wasn't called, so it was not a face mask. This play the Eagles run has been unstoppable all season long, but Britt jumped over the pile and pulled Jalen Hurts backward, stopping the play on a two-point conversion. Without these former Auburn Tigers, this game would have been a lot closer than it was.

Drew Weisholtz of Today.com had this to say about the tush push, "While other teams have employed the "tush push," it's most closely associated with the Eagles because of the success they've had with it." The Eagles have perfected the "tush push" without a doubt, but Britt was able to stop the play when it mattered the most.

Britt didn't get a ton of playing time early into his career, but he is getting it now as the Buccaneers look to make a deep playoff run. A defense full of former Auburn Tigers is looking for a Super Bowl ring.
