Two Auburn standouts selected in a recent NFL Mock Draft

Auburn had two players selected in this NFL Mock Draft.

The NFL Draft is right around the corner, and Auburn will have a handful of former players selected.

Auburn had a mixture of young players on the field and veteran talent. The secondary is where Auburn had a whole bunch of older players, and a good amount of Auburn's starting secondary will get drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. Auburn has put a ton of talented corners in the NFL like Jamel Dean, Carlton Davis, and Jonathan Jones. A few new players will join that list this year.

A mock draft came out from Draft Wire that had D.J. James being selected 69th overall by the Los Angeles Chargers and Nehemiah Pritchett going to the Washington Commanders with the 100th overall pick. This would make both of these former Auburn Tigers day two picks going in the third round. It's no surprise James is going in the third round, but it is great to see that Pritchett has made the way up the list on some of the Mock Drafts.

Kyle Crabbs of Athlon Sports had this to say about James, "James feels like he’s on the Jack Jones plan — Jones wasn’t the biggest cornerback, but the instincts and assertiveness he plays the game with has some overlap. That obviously helped Jones make an early impact for the New England Patriots as a mid-round draft choice, and I can foresee a similar pathway to success for James."

Pritchett and James both had excellent careers at Auburn and knowing how well the Tigers have done producing corners in the NFL, there is no doubt these two will be great at the next level.
