Baylor’s Kendall Brown Making a Splash in NBA Summer League
Through four games of NBA Summer League action, former Baylor Bears forward Kendall Brown is averaging 9.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for the Indiana Pacers.
And although the Pacers have just one game remaining in Las Vegas — a matchup against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday — Brown has made quite an impact on his new team.
Baylor coach Scott Drew recently tweeted out an image boasting about Brown’s spectacular play thus far in the summer league.
In his first NBA game this summer on July 8 against Charlotte, Brown came off the bench for Indiana and netted nine points, three rebounds, and an assist in 21 minutes of play as the Pacers picked up a 96-83 victory over the Hornets.
On Sunday against Sacramento, Brown scored eight points along with four rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes off the bench in a 103-96 loss to the Kings.
On Tuesday against Detroit, Brown’s 18 minutes of bench play resulted in eight points, seven boards, and four assists in a 101-87 win over the Pistons.
In Indiana’s 97-79 loss to Washington on Friday, Brown was a starter for the Pacers and scored 14 points while pulling down two rebounds and dishing out two assists in 26 minutes of play.
Overall, Brown is shooting 50 percent from the field (16-of-32) and has drilled 40 percent of his shots from beyond the arc (2-of-5) while averaging 21 minutes of playing time.
Brown and the Pacers return to the hardwood for the final game of summer league play on Sunday against the Suns at 4:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
