The Baylor Bears men’s basketball team will represent the United States in the GLOBL JAM being held this week in Canada.

The inaugural tournament tips off on Tuesday, July 5, and runs through Sunday, July 10 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto.

Baylor is slated to face Italy, Canada and Brazil in pool play — starting with Tuesday’s opener against Italy at 1 p.m. Central Time.

Following Tuesday’s opener, the Bears wrap up pool play against Canada on Wednesday at 8 p.m CT and Brazil on Thursday at 1 p.m. CT.

The men’s semifinals will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. CT, followed by the Gold Medal Game on Sunday, July 10, at 6 p.m. CT.

The GLOBL JAM is an Under-23 event featuring the game’s rising stars across the world.

The tournament is a partnership between Canada Basketball and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

“We are so honored to have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent the United States in international competition,” Baylor coach Scott Drew told BaylorBears.com. “This will be a terrific event with great teams from across the globe, and we are grateful to Canada Basketball and the NABC for making this tournament a reality.”

Coach Drew is entering his 20th season at the helm of the Baylor men's basketball team; he guided the Bears to a national championship in 2021.
