Former Oklahoma State RB Dominic Richardson Commits to Baylor Bears
Former Oklahoma State Cowboy running back Dominic Richardson announced his commitment to the Baylor Bears, adding to a talented and young running back room that will include Richard Reese, Bryson Washington, and likely another year of Craig "Sqwirl" Williams.
Richardson never really broke out, but was always a dependable back at Oklahoma State in three seasons as a Cowboy. From 2020-2022, Richardson rushed for 1,139 yards and 15 touchdowns, mostly as a third down back. In Baylor's offense, he will likely be a complementary back with Reese and Williams.
The Bears effectively used three running backs to split the carries in 2022, with Reese being relieved by both Williams and Qualan Jones after Taye McWilliams, the back who began the season as the starter, was injured in week two against BYU and didn't see the field again.
Richardson played his high school football at Bishop McGuinness in Oklahoma City and originally committed to TCU before flipping to OSU in 2020. Physically, Richardson fills out a prototypical running back body better than both Reese and Williams do, standing at 6'0" and 205 pounds.
Richardson's production took a dip in 2022 in his first year as the starting back. He battled nagging injuries the back half of the year, having not had more than 20 carries in a game since mid-October.
