Cal Women's Basketball: Evelien Lutje Schipholt In Transfer Portal

Two other Golden Bears players -- Sela Heide and Amaya Bonner -- are also reportedly in the transfer portal, and Heide is headed to Oregon State

Evelien Lutje Schipholt, who started all 29 games for Cal this past season as a senior, and two other Cal women's basketball players are reporrtedly in the transfer portal.

Junior Sela Heide and freshman Amaya Bonner are the two other Cal players currently in the portal, but Lutje Schipholt is the most significant Cal player in the portal at the moment. All three are in the portal, according to Heat Check CBB.

Heide is transferring to Oregon State, according to multiple reports.

Cal has already lost Jayda Curry, who was the Pac-12's leading scorer in 2021-22 as a freshman. She has transferred to Louisville.  And now Lutje Schipholt is heading out.

Although Lutje Schipholt was a senior who played four seasons at Cal, she played during the 2020-21 pandemic season, which did not count against a player's eligibility. So she has one season of college eligibility remaining.

She averaged 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds this past season for Cal after averaging 9.3 points and 6.9 rebounds in 2021-22 as a junior. Lutje Schipholt was a starter in each of her final three seasons at Cal.

The 6-foot-7 Heide was a highly rated recruit, but she never received much playing time at Cal. She played in just 11 games this past season and averaged 3.5 minutes, 1.8 points and 0.7 rebounds.

Bonner did not get a lot of playing time as a freshman, but she showed some promise. She appeared in 21 game and averaged 6.6 minutes, 0.8 points and 0.9 rebounds.

Cal has already added one transfer, Ioanna Krimili, who was a three-time all-conference selection while at San Francisco, and the Golden Bears probably will add several mor transfers.
