Report: Bearcats In Contact With Butler Guard Jayden Taylor; TCU Center Eddie Lampkin
CINCINNATI — The college basketball transfer portal is open, prompting over 100 entries on the first day. Cincinnati has to hit on at least one, likely two transfers to have a chance at success in the Big 12 next season.
One player they've already targeted is Butler's leading scorer Jayden Taylor.
The sophomore averaged 12.9 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. At 6-foot-4, 190 pounds, Taylor has two years of eligibility left and could be a nice wing addition for a program that will likely need depth on that front.
His shooting marks leave a lot to be desired but he's improved them from Year 1 to 2 and could take another leap in Clifton.
Over 10 schools have already reached out to Taylor.
Joe Tipton reports that TCU center Eddie Lampkin has also heard from the Bearcats.
The junior averaged 6.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season before stepping away from the team due to a personal matter.
The 6-foot-11, 300 pound center has two years of eligibility left. He would be a nice complement to Viktor Lakhin as Cincinnati doesn't really have a cemented 2023-24 back up behind the Russian.
