Report: Former Louisville Outside Linebackers Coach Greg Gasparato Joining UC Staff
CINCINNATI — UC football reportedly added a trio of new coaches to Scott Satterfield's staff this week, including former Louisville outside linebackers coach Greg Gasparato. According to Justin Williams, Gasparato role is not currently available.
Satterfield hired Gasparato to coach safeties at Louisville in 2021, and he moved to outside linebackers this past season. Before that, he coached the 2020 Army team as co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach. The Knights were second nationally in scoring defense at 14.8 points per game and finished ninth with 16 interceptions.
Satterfield and Gasparato also worked together at Appalachian State.
The latter coached the Mountaineers' safeties in 2019 and was a defensive graduate assistant at App State from 2013-14, before spending 2015-17 as the inside linebackers coach at FCS-level Wofford.
He played a big role in Louisville matching a school record with 50 sacks in 2022. Gasparato joins new offensive coordinator Tom Manning and Josh Stepp as the latest additions to UC's staff. All in all, seven former Louisville coaches have followed Satterfield up the road to Cincinnati.
