Cincinnati Lands Commitment From Four-Star 2025 Running Back Zion Johnson
CINCINNATI — The Bearcats have a fourth commitment in the 2025 class, this time from four-star 2025 running back Zion Johnson out of Newton (Georgia).
According to 247Sports, he is the 357th-ranked player nationally and the 31st-best running back. Johnson holds 16 offers from teams like UConn and Florida.
The 5-foot-8, 180-pound rocket should bring some great pop to the Cincinnati backfield. He's consistently averaged over seven yards per carry over the past two seasons.
Johnson's a big time home run hitter with some fantastic long scoring runs on tape. He mostly rushes from the shotgun and pistol in a spread system, which helps him hit that top gear a little faster. He does a nice job showing patience in tight holes and letting his blockers eat before exploding at the second level.
He showed some receiving chops in his junior season and the biggest question is probably his pass blocking just becuase it's not featured much on highlights. The junior can also score as a punt returner, adding another element he could bring to his college program.
Johnson enters the class as UC's highest-rated 2025 commit so far.
