CINCINNATI — A football and basketball offer went out in recent days, starting with 2023 three-star defensive end Brian Simms III from St. Frances Academy (Maryland).

According to 247Sports Composite, Simms is the 153rd-ranked defensive lineman in the country and the 28th-best player in Maryland. He holds seven offers now after committing to Boston College in March. This is the first offer he's received since committing.

Simms is a solid talent with a nice 6-foot-4, 240-pound frame to build on. He is raw on film with plenty of power and size to defend the run well and meet rushers at the point of attack. I'll be interested to see how his pass-rushing package expands the rest of his senior year. That aspect of his game needs some polishing. Check out highlights of Simms here.

On the hardwood, Wes Miller sent an offer to 2024 shooting guard Colin White out of Ottawa-Glandorf (Ohio).

No major recruiting service has White currently ranked, but he does hold three other offers from Akron, West Virginia, and Northern Iowa.

White's physicality won't intimidate many backcourts, but he is a technically sound player. His jump shot is compact and well-refined, showing range from all three levels of the floor, along with a nice package of dribble moves to get to those spots.

He has decent athleticism at 6-foot-5, 180 pounds, and can run the floor in a high-tempo system. I didn't get a strong sense of how well he can create as a guard so that's something to monitor if his UC recruitment picks up more steam. Check out the highlights here.
