UC Football Lands Four-Star Linebacker Trevor Carter

The Ironton native is the third player to commit from the 2023 recruiting class.

Luke Fickell keeps breaking down recruiting barriers for Bearcats Football. The program secured a commitment from 4-star linebacker Trevor Carter on Tuesday.

The linebacker checks in at No. 263 on the ESPN Junior 300 and is the highest-rated defensive recruit in Bearcats history. Carter has offers from Arkansas, Michigan, Michigan State, and Kentucky, among others, but chose the 513.

Tipping the scales at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Carter had fellow 2023 recruit, AJ Salley, in his ear, and the former was elated to see him commit. The Miamisburg offensive tackle congratulated his newest teammate on Twitter. The two join Youngstown Chaney (OH) safety Jason Hewlett in the growing 2023 class.

Carter is ESPN's 14th-best linebacker overall and sixth-best Ohio player in their 2023 rankings. Fickell has built this program into a consistent Top-10 outfit, and the best recruits in Ohio are taking notice.
