Clemson Football: Look Ahead for Charleston Southern
After a a week one upset to Duke there's no game the Clemson Tigers can take for granted. Week two brings the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, an FCS squad, that barely escaped DII North Greenville with a 13-10 win last weekend.
The Bucs required a late fourth-quarter comeback last week against North Greensville. They played two quarterbacks that went a combined 7-20 for 104 yards. Obviously, the passing attack shouldn't be much of a threat on Saturday.
If there's one player that Clemson needs to watch it's running back JD Moore who rushed for 105 yards on 17 carries. Most of the rushing threat last week came against Duke QB Riley Leonard so the defensive line should have a more traditional rushing outlook against the running back this time around.
Defensive lineman Laron Davis came up with the Buccaneers' only turnover in the form of an interception which means Clemson's o-line will have to be aware.
At the end of the day, this game is all about the Tigers. Just bouncing back from the loss in week 1 isn't enough and this team knows it. There are habits that have to be formed starting Saturday that remain for the rest of the year in order to achieve anything close to the goals that Clemson set for itself over the summer.
