Clemson has a finishing problem.

Clemson has been able to move the ball, but 21 points over their past two games points to a big issue with the offense.
In this story:

Saying Saturday's loss to Duke was disappointing would be an understatement of major proportions. Clemson is college football's favorite punching bag at the moment and it's not hard to see why.

After an offseason full of promises about an explosive new offense and head coach Dabo Swinney's insistence that the Tigers don't need the Transfer Portal, Clemson's offense fell flat, scoring just 7 points, and multiple teams around the country, including Colorado and Florida State, made huge statements with big wins while fielding a boatload of transfers.

All hope is not lost, however. Clemson has been outscored 59-21 over their past 2 games. The Tigers have outgained and outrushed their opponents (Tennessee and Duke) in both games. The problem isn't moving the football, Clemson has done that. The problem is finishing with points.

Over the past 8 quarters, Clemson has driven into their opponents' territory eighteen times. They've come away with points on just four of those drives. The other fourteen trips included: five missed field goals, four turnover of downs, an interception, and two crushing fumbles.

Just 21 points out of nearly 900 yards of offense isn't going to cut it. The Tigers have two games (Charleston Southern - 9/9 - 2:15 p.m. & 9/16 Florida Atlantic: 8 p.m. (ACCN)) to get things figured out before Florida State comes to town.
