Clemson Football Recruiting: Top Remaining Targets

It's about time for some dominoes to start falling in the 2024 class for Clemson. Who are the top remaining recruits for the Tigers?

To say that the 2024 recruiting class for Clemson has gotten off to a slow start would be an understatement. The Tigers have missed out on their top three quarterback targets, have yet to land an in-state prospect, and currently rank outside of 247's Composite Rankings' top 10. With that said, we're still a ways off from December's early signing period, and as one college football expert told us, "Dabo is a big-time summer momentum recruiter if I remember correctly."

Clemson is still in on some big targets. Quarterback Air Noland will commit on Saturday and plenty of the other top prospects remain available. So who are the top remaining players on Clemson's big board?

Sammy Brown on a visit to Clemson. Brown is the No. 1 ranked linebacker in the class of 2024.

Sammy Brown - Linebacker - Jefferson, Georgia

The No. 1 linebacker in the class. Clemson has been on Brown for a while and remains one of the favorites to land the rangy athlete. Brown was a teammate for his first two years in high school with Georgia safety Malaki Starks. It's no surprise that Clemson will be battling Georgia for his services.

Mike Matthews - Wide Receiver - Parkview, Georgia

Mike Matthews is about as elite as it gets at the wide receiver position. The No. 2 receiver in this class, Matthews would be the highest-rated receiver recruit for Clemson since Roscoe Crosby in 2001. Matthews' uniform wouldn't change much if he committed to Clemson, as Parkview emulates Clemson in its colors, logo, and mascot, but, again, Georgia is currently the favorite to land the wideout, with Clemson a close second.

Eddrick Houston - Edge - Buford, Georgia

One of the most coveted edge rushers in the class, Eddrick Houston hails from perennial Georgia high school football power Buford where he plays both defensive end and tight end. At 6-foot-3, 250 pounds, Houston has the ideal combination of speed and power that every team would love to have. Georgia will be the team to beat for his services, but Clemson is making a strong push. Athens is just over a half-hour from Buford, but Clemson is close too.
