Forgive the pun on Opening Day, but Clemson is in danger of striking out on their top 3 quarterback prospects in the class of 2024. Jadyn Davis, a 5-star quarterback out of Providence Day School in North Carolina, will announce his decision on the 31st. Clemson made his final 5, along with Tennessee, North Carolina, Michigan, and Ohio State. From all indications, Clemson's chances look slim.

Michigan is the heavy favorite here. The Wolverines have been locked onto Davis for a while, and it seems likely that Davis will be dawning a maize and blue hat on Thursday. Recruiting expert Mike Farrell shared his thought's on Davis' upcoming decision. "Clemson was always a secondary contender," wrote Farrell. It appears it'll be another disappointing result for a recruiting class that is currently shaky at best.

The Tigers are currently ranked 14th in 247's Composite Rankings, behind teams like Minnesota, Wake Forest, Pitt, and South Carolina (to be fair, they're a spot ahead of Alabama. Recuiting ain't over 'til it's over). Clemson first missed out on quarterback Walker White out of Arkansas, who ended up committing to Hugh Freeze and Auburn. The team then swung and missed with DJ Legway, Florida's 5-star quarterback commit. Now their hopes for a quarterback appear to be coming down to Jadyn Davis, Air Noland out of Langston Hughes in Georgia, or the Transfer Portal.

Jadyn Davis helped lead his Providence Day team to a state title in 2022. He was named the 2022 Gatorade Player of the Year in North Carolina. Davis is scheduled to announce his decision on ESPN's SportsCenter on Friday at 1:30 p.m. EST.
