The Nation's No. 1 inside linebacker and Peach State product Sammy Brown has announced his college commitment. Brown will be playing his college ball at Clemson.

Brown is rated as the top player in the state of Georgia and the 14th overall best player in the country for the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247 composite rankings. The Georgia native lives right down the road from the University of Georgia but will be a Tiger instead for his college career.

The Bulldogs came into the month of June with a lot of momentum after picking up several big-time commitments, which included quarterback Dylan Raiola, the number-one player in the country. It's not often that Georgia loses out on a recruitment within their own state borders, but Clemson has edged out the Bulldogs in this one.

We caught up with Brown at the beginning of May as he began spring practice at Jefferson high school in northeast Georgia. He spoke on his relationship with Clemson's coaching staff. "It's another really strong relationship. Coach [Wes] Goodwin and Coach [Dabo] Sweeney have been there... I mean, even before I got the offer, it's just been a really strong relationship with them. They've got a really good culture, and they've always been historically good on defense."

Brown is the highest-rated inside linebacker commit for Clemson ever and a top-10 prospect all-time.
