Colorado men’s basketball will face Miami (Fla.) on Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., per an announcement on Monday. The contest against this year's Final Four team will be part of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Brooklyn Showcase.

The CU-Miami meeting is also part of a grouping that includes Fordham and North Texas St., St. John and Boston College, along with Temple and Albany. A great test for Tad Boyle's Buffs, who opened last season knocking off No. 11 Tennessee and No. 24 Texas A&M, respectively. They ended the season with a disappointing 18-17 record.

Tristan da Silva and KJ Simpson return for the Buffs, along with McDonald’s All-American Cody Williams as an incoming freshman to the lineup. Colorado went 2-9 away from Boulder in Pac-12 conference play, which will be an area of emphasis this upcoming season.

Miami went 29-8 during the course of their cinderella run that ended with a 72-59 loss to UConn. The Canes will likely be ranked when the Buffs go rolling into New York.

The first scheduled meeting between Colorado and Miami in 66 years. The Buffaloes won the previous contest, 73-66, on Jan. 3, 1957, in South Florida. Ironically, CU's football team made the trip coming off a New Year's Day Orange Bowl match-up with Clemson that year. Former CU and NFL standout John Wooten talked about the Buffs struggles in Miami in a BuffsBeat exclusive.

Colorado has a 5-12 record against current Atlantic Coast Conference teams with the last meeting coming against Florida State in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

Tickets for the NABC Brooklyn Showcase will go on-sale via Ticketmaster and the Barclays Center Box Office via presale on Tuesday, Aug. 15, and general public sale on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
