Deion Sanders not likely to "high-step or dance" ever again, but preparing to run behind Ralphie
Deion Sanders is always smiling, but his reason for joy comes after weeks of struggles. He may never be high-stepping or dance ever again, but it's now about searching for normality.
The Colorado Buffaloes coach told his players on Tuesday that he was excited to finally remove the cast from his left foot, which means he's on schedule to be running behind Ralphie in a few short weeks.
"I couldn't wait to wake up this morning," Sanders said via Well Off Media.
"I don't know if any of you felt that way. But something about today was different. It wasn't really all about football. It was about me having the opportunity to elevate.
"This was the day that they were taking my cast off. So, I went to bed last night at about eight o' clock, and I was excited. I was happy, and before my feet hit the ground, I was like Lord, thank you. See, your goal is to be dominate all season. My goal is to just run out before you at TCU."
Sanders, 56, underwent emergency surgery two months ago to remove blood clots in his legs. He had an additional operation following the initial procedure to clean up the bones in his foot, along with the removal of additional clots. The painstaking process forced Coach Prime to miss Pac-12 Media Day.

It was the latest health setback for Sanders, who had two toes amputated while at Jackson State. However, he now feels like all that is behind him, and he can focus on Colorado's non-conference schedule.
A homecoming of sorts for Sanders with TCU on the book for CU's season opener. While the game is scheduled in Fort Worth, it's not far from where Sanders made a name for himself in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Buffs have five opponents ranked in the AP's Top 25 preseason poll. They're also one of ten FBS schools that will not play an FCS school this year.
