Deion Sanders has emotional plea for players ahead of season finale vs. Utah
The Colorado Buffaloes are on the verge of closing out Deion Sanders' first season in Boulder. It's been a rollercoaster ride for the ages with college football's epicenter centered around the "Prime Effect". Sanders has created hype for a program that was once lost and continues to create waves time and time again. This was a preview of things to come for the Buffs.
Sanders walked into his final game preparation of the season on Friday. It was a bittersweet exchange between the Hall-of-Famer and his team less than 24 hours before taking the field at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
"This is the last time that this room will ever look like this," Sanders said via Reach the People Media. "This is the last time. It's not good. It's not bad. It's whatever you desire it to be. But there will never be all of us that's in this room tonight, in this room again ever."
Sanders' message to his players seemed to carry a little more emotion from previous ones. He then challenged his team to give their best shot at life.
"I want you to find your purpose. Find your will. Find your way and understand whatever that is you got to give it everything you got. Because at the end of the day when you look in that mirror, you've got to reconcile with yourself. Did you give it your all? Did you do all that you could do?"
Colorado hits the field for the final time this year. A Rumble in the Rockies showdown with Utah on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on the Pac-12 Network.
