Former Jackson State standout sees his best season ahead of him

Shilo Sanders is ready to perform in his first year at Colorado. The Jackson State transfer says he's in a much better place compared to prior stops in his collegiate career.

Coach Prime's middle son took on an array of questions from the media Monday afternoon. Shilo sees his final year as a breakout period in Boulder. A change of pace with Sanders becoming a student of the game.

“I feel good right now," Sanders noted after being injured last year. "This is the smartest, strongest, and fastest I've ever been.

The JSU grad recognized the importance of good coaching with former Alabama defensive coordinator Charles Kelly taking on the same role at Colorado. He's one of the most experienced coaches on Deion Sanders' staff going into their first year together.

"Being coached by coach Kelly and our (CU) staff... I got my dad, Coach Prime, up here. They’re always teaching us hustling to the ball, effort, and the stuff that really makes a difference between good and great because I'm trying to be great.”

Colorado's Travis Hunter named to AP All-American team

Sanders has been a bully on the practice field for the Buffs. The safety has turned Well Off Media's coverage into his own highlight tapes with the hits coming on a regular basis. A hyper-focused approach from Shilo going into the final weeks of preparation before the big opener with TCU.

It's been an interesting family affair for Sanders with his father taking over coaching duties at Colorado, along with going after his younger brother, Shedeur, every day at practice. All the makings of a new season of Coach Prime coming soon to Amazon Prime.
