Report: Duke basketball adds three more opponents to schedule

The 2023-24 Duke basketball schedule is starting to take shape.

Duke basketball is hosting a multi-team event as part of next season's non-conference schedule, according to a tweet on Wednesday morning from The Bracketeer's Rocco Miller.

The Blue Devils, under the direction of second-year head coach Jon Scheyer, will see home games against the La Salle Explorers out of the Atlantic 10, the Bucknell Bison out of the Patriot League, and the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles out of the Ohio Valley Conference. Miller noted that dates for the event are to be announced later.

All three opponents finished with losing records last season.

With the addition of La Salle, Bucknell, and Southern Indiana to the Duke basketball schedule, six of the Blue Devils' 11 non-conference games are now known.

Duke will host the Arizona Wildcats on Nov. 10 before heading to the Champions Classic in Chicago's United Center to face the Michigan State Spartans on Nov. 14. Both the Wildcats and Spartans are likely to begin the season in the AP Top 25; Michigan State and Duke look like early contenders for the top spot.

And on Dec. 29, the Queens Royals are coming to Cameron Indoor Stadium for a matchup against the Blue Devils.

As for Duke basketball's 20-game ACC campaign, the conference's scheduling matrix for the 2023-24 season has the Blue Devils playing home and away against UNC, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Pitt.
