Now that most players are on campus and summer media day is in the books this week, Duke basketball offseason work is in full swing in preparation for Jon Scheyer's second year at the helm. With that comes highlights of intrasquad action courtesy of the program's social media team.

On Thursday evening, the official Duke basketball account tweeted over two minutes of footage from four-on-four scrimmaging this week:

The returning players are in white:

  • Sophomore point guard Tyrese Proctor (No. 5)
  • Sophomore shooting guard Jaden Schutt (No. 14)
  • Junior walk-on center Stanley Borden (No. 52)
  • Graduate big man Ryan Young (No. 15)

And the four guys wearing the dark Duke basketball practice jerseys are the five-star newcomers:

  • Point guard Caleb Foster (No. 1)
  • Combo guard Jared McCain (No. 0)
  • Stretch forward TJ Power (No. 12)
  • Power forward Sean Stewart (No. 13)

Scheyer explained on Wednesday that sophomore power forward Kyle Filipowski, sophomore center Christian Reeves, sophomore small forward Mark Mitchell, and senior point guard Jeremy Roach are not yet participating in live-ball scrimmages due to the team being cautious with their past injuries or offseason surgery.

So that's why only four men are on each side in the above clips.

Despite being without a few pieces of their perimeter arsenal, one thing that stands out in the video is the abundance of 3-point weapons on tap for the Blue Devils next season.

Power, in particular, appears to shine as a knockdown catch-and-shoot floor-spacer. But even Young, who did not attempt a shot from downtown last season across his 635 minutes on the court, splashed one in the scrimmage, seemingly confidently and smoothly from the top of the key.

Of course, the shifty drives from the young guards, namely Proctor, Foster, and McCain, also look like a sure-thing bright spot.

There's no word on which group won the scoreboard battle. However, by Blue Devil Country's count, the rookies held a 45-36 advantage over their returning counterparts, at least in the highlights.

Duke basketball figures to start the season in early November at or near the top of the preseason AP Top 25.
