Duke Basketball Recruiting: In-State Prep Notes Deadline for Decision
A week and a half ago, North Meck (N.C.) small forward Isaiah Evans wrapped up his official visit to the Duke basketball program; his only other official visit was to Florida State in October. And the 6-foot-7, 170-pound five-star, who ranks No. 10 among 2024 recruits in the eyes of 247Sports, seemed to enjoy his time with the Blue Devils.

"It went good," Evans told 247Sports' Travis Branham this week. "I had a good time. They showed me a good time. I liked the visit...Their pitch to me is that Duke is the place for me. I am a guy that fits their system."
It wasn't the first time that Isaiah Evans, known as a long-limbed potent scorer with some similarities to former Duke basketball star Brandon Ingram, was in Durham. In late November, months before receiving an offer from Jon Scheyer and his staff, he attended the Blue Devils' home win over Ohio State during an unofficial visit.
Now, he is looking to schedule official visits elsewhere. He explained to Branham that he's still unsure which schools he plans to check out in person. But it's worth noting that he has also taken unofficial visits to two more ACC programs: Clemson and NC State.
While Evans has yet to name finalists in his recruitment, it sounds like he plans to pick a winner at some point before the end of November.
"I am definitely going to make a decision by the time my senior season starts," he informed Branham.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball for Isaiah Evans doesn't contain any predictions. However, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pegs the Blue Devils as the slight favorite with a 34.3 percent chance to come out on top.

Duke basketball's only 2024 commitment to date came from Paul VI Catholic (Va.) four-star small forward Darren Harris in October. He's a heralded sharpshooter who ranks No. 50 on the 247Sports 2024 Composite.
