Duke Basketball: Three ACC Schools Eye Sons of Blue Devil Champ
Unlike most of their peers, Christopher Columbus (Fla.) rising juniors Cayden and Cameron Boozer didn't report which programs they heard from when the direct-contact recruiting period began in the 2025 cycle last week. No, Duke basketball great Carlos Boozer's twin sons have kept their recruitment somewhat hush-hush.
But one can assume that the Blue Devils and at least two other ACC schools, Miami and UNC, have been in direct contact with five-star power forward Cameron Boozer, No. 1 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, and newly minted composite five-star combo guard Cayden Boozer, No. 24 overall, since June 15.
Surprisingly, Duke, Miami, and UNC account for about half of the only handful of offers that either Cameron or Cayden has reported thus far.
And on Friday night, 247Sports' Travis Branham reported that coaches from the Blue Devils, Hurricanes, and Tar Heels were in Arizona to check out the Boozer twins in their team's Section 7 Tournament game.
As Branham later noted, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, fresh off leading Team USA to a 6-0 record with a record-breaking title-bout performance at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship in Mexico earlier this month, looked to be all about winning once again:
"One thing that can always be said of Cameron Boozer, as well as his twin brother Cayden, is that no matter the opponent they always bring great focus and intensity to the court. On Friday night...Cameron was dominant from start to finish, physically imposing his will in the paint, on the glass, on defense, and also stepping out and making a shot way beyond three. Similarly, Cayden was his usual self from a defense, facilitating, and slashing standpoint but also showing the continuing progress that he is making with his jumper."
Both Boozer twins have held a Duke basketball offer since May 2022. Neither has named finalists or mentioned a timeline for a decision.
Two others in the 2025 class are on the Blue Devils' wishlist: Montverde (Fla.) five-star small forward Cooper Flagg, No. 2 overall composite, and Lincoln Park (Pa.) five-star point guard Meleek Thomas, No. 5 overall.
