Wisconsin Lutheran five-star senior Kon Knueppel is in the midst of a busy week in his recruitment. The week concludes with a two-day Duke basketball official visit beginning Friday. And his decision will likely come within a few weeks after that.

Knueppel, an extremely polished wing who ranks No. 22 overall on the 247Sports 2024 Composite and has held an offer from the Blue Devils since early July, was at Alabama late last week and will check out Wisconsin on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then he heads to Virginia on Thursday and Duke the following day.

Although he's yet to name finalists, he's made known his plan to choose a winner in the coming weeks and has no planned trips after returning home from Durham.

In other words, as BadgerNotes' Dillon Graff recently suggested, second-year Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer and his crew still appear very much in the running and should have a legitimate chance to make a winning impression:

"The expectation is that a decision will come in late September or early October...According to our source, Wisconsin basketball is 'fading' in the Kon Knueppel sweepstakes, and the odds of him becoming a homegrown Badgers player are 'less than likely.' The source indicated that Virginia and Duke are the teams to beat for the 6-foot-5, 205-pound sharpshooter and that Tony Bennett is pulling 'every connection under the sun' to get him there.

"The latest development seems to confirm that there is still no consensus decision among his camp, and a clearer picture should emerge following his visits..."

No 247Sports insiders have entered a prediction into Knueppel's Crystal Ball. The Rivals FutureCast and On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine are also devoid of expert picks thus far.

Duke basketball will have another 2024 target, St. Thomas More (Conn.) four-star small forward Tyler Betsey, on campus this weekend. On top of that, the Blue Devils welcome two 2025 forward prospects, Highland (Va.) four-star Nate Ament and Western Reserve (Ohio) four-star Nikola Bundalo, for their unofficial visits.

So, Kon Knueppel's busy week will conclude with a relatively busy weekend for the Duke basketball staff.

One would think all the recruits will be in Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday to watch the Duke football team, now 2-0 and No. 21 in the AP Top 25, take on Northwestern at 3:30 p.m. ET.
