First-Year Duke Basketball Recruiter Visits Dutch Sharpshooter

Duke basketball was in New Hampshire again for an explosive perimeter prospect from the Netherlands.

Duke basketball assistant Emanuel Dildy, who came to Durham from Oklahoma this summer and has already played a critical role in the Blue Devils landing five-star 2024 wing Kon Knueppel, was at Brewster Academy (N.H.) on Wednesday to see 2025 forward Dwayne Aristode, national recruiting insider Andrew Slater reported.

The check-in on the 6-foot-7, 185-pound four-star is one of several by the Blue Devils in the past few months.

Aristode, a 17-year-old who arrived from the Netherlands over the summer and now ranks No. 41 among high school juniors in the eyes of On3, has yet to report an offer from second-year Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer.

Nevertheless, there is no doubt the Blue Devils, not to mention a few other bluebloods in Kentucky, Kansas, and UCLA, are highly interested in the noted sharpshooter and top-shelf athlete.

At the 2022 FIBA U16 European Championship, Aristode averaged 15.3 points, 9.0 boards, 2.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks, shooting 37.5 percent beyond the arc on 9.1 attempts per game.

In September, Eurohopes' Artua Pascual provided the following breakdown of Dwayne Aristodes' upside, in line with the above stats:

"Dwayne is an astonishing athlete...he's gifted and versatile enough to cover positions 2 to 4 at the current level providing lineup flexibility and an immediate impact in terms of activity and energy. We are talking about a lengthy perimeter player with wide shoulders who has the frame to muscle up well. He moves with long strides and covers an impressive amount of ground. As a player, he's still a blank sheet.."

Duke's 2025 offer list consists of nine names: four-star guard Brayden Burries, five-star forward Nate Ament, five-star guard Cayden Boozer, five-star center Khaman Maluach, five-star forward Jalen Haralson, five-star guard Meleek Thomas, five-star forward Caleb Wilson, five-star forward Koa Peat, and five-star forward Cameron Boozer.
