Smooth Recruit Calls Duke Basketball 'Most Famous Program in History'
Brewster Academy (N.H.) junior Dwayne Aristode, who hails from the Netherlands but played three years in Spain before moving to America this summer, has been seeing Duke basketball interest for months. The 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward explained that interest — it sure sounds mutual — during his recent chat with On3's Jamie Shaw.
"I'm talking with Emanuel Dildy," Aristode, No. 41 overall among 2025 recruits in the eyes of On3, said about the first-year Duke basketball assistant. "He tells me how much he likes my potential as a player. They want to see me get down there, take a visit. They talk about the stuff I can improve on and all...
"Right now, I'd say I'm hearing the most from Duke, Kentucky, and UCLA."
Blue Devil recruiters have been to his school to check in on him this fall. And the four-star prospect, who is a noted silky sharpshooter but with a budding skill set and energetic game on both ends of the floor, has done his homework on Duke basketball going back decades.

"I know a lot about the program," the 17-year-old told Shaw. "I mean, that's the most famous program in history, you know. JJ Redick and Christian Laettner, and Zion Williamson, they get all these high-ranked players that go there."
Thus far, second-year Blue Devil head coach Jon Scheyer and his gang have offers on the table to nine 2025 preps.
Dwayne Aristode isn't on that list. It may be only a matter of time until he is, though.
