After only two seasons, Southern has officially parted ways with head coach Eric Dooley. The university announced the decision on Tuesday with an official release.

Dooley finished with a 12-10 overall record and a 9-6 record in conference play over his two seasons in Baton Rouge. He led the Jaguars to the SWAC Championship game last season, which the Jaguars lost 43-24 to Jackson State.

The Jaguars currently sit at 5-5 (4-3 SWAC) after a disappointing loss to Prairie View A&M this weekend. Southern has not won a game over a team above .500 this season.

Assistant head coach Terrence Graves will serve as interim head coach for the Bayou Classic on Nov. 25 against Grambling State. Southern will hold a press conference on Nov. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the A.W. Mumford Field House.
