The announcement comes after Jarvis visited Gainesville earlier this week. That face-to-face time with the staff solidified the Gators standing as the team on top of his recruitment. On Friday, he shared the decision to shut down his process and officially continue his collegiate career at UF.

Presenting length — at 6-foot-8, 220 pounds — scoring prowess and rim protection abilities from his four-spot, Jarvis is a valuable two-way asset to aid the unit on both ends of the floor next season.

In 2022-23, the Yale forward produced 11.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the Bulldogs in 22.2 minutes per game — all career-high numbers. He shot 55% from the field and 40.6% from three, showcasing the stretch four prowess the UF staff covets when targeting frontcourt pieces.

Against Kentucky, Jarvis accounted for 12 points on 50% from the field, seven rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes.

His athleticism at his size presents tremendous upside for the Gators at the four next season. He’ll operate in tandem with rising junior Alex Fudge at the spot.

Florida will continue hitting the transfer portal diligently as it looks to fill five open spots on the roster at this moment following a mass exodus of talent after the 2022-23 season.

That included the departure of seniors Colin Castleton, Kyle Lofton and Myreon Jones as well as transfer portal entrants Kowacie Reeves Jr., Niels Lane, Jason Jitoboh, CJ Felder and Trey Bonham.

Iona guard transfer and Lake Wales (Fla.) native Walter Clayton Jr. aligns as the top target for Florida to lure in at this time.
