Florida vs. Charlotte: Gators Official Inactive List
Center Kingsley Eguakun, wide receiver Eugene "Tre" Wilson III, tight end Tony Livingston and linebacker Ja'Markis Weston — who were officially ruled out of action on Wednesday — aren't the only Gators not expected to suit up for the unit's bout with Charlotte on Saturday night.
Redshirt sophomore wideout Marcus Burke and redshirt freshman safety Kamari Wilson were added to the list pregame for undisclosed reasons.
The trio joins Eguakun, who is inactive for the third time in four games after suffering a setback after returning to the lineup for Florida's upset victory over Tennessee, according to head coach Billy Napier. The veteran offensive lineman returns to the sideline, and into a walking boot, against the 49ers as a result.
Florida hopes to have Eguakun back in the fold prior to its first SEC road contest against the Kentucky Wildcats in Week 5.
Fellow offensive starter, Wilson III, who took on an increased role on the first drive of the Gators' bout with UT to post six receptions for 44 yards before suffering a collarbone bruise on the same possession. will miss the first full game of his collegiate career on Saturday night as he rehabilitates the bruise.
He did, however, participate in individual on-field drills pregame alongside Burke. His availability for ensuing contests is currently unknown.
The Gators will also be missing right guard Micah Mazzccua, right tackle Dameion Geroge Jr. and tight end Dante Zanders for the first half as they serve suspensions for their role in the late-game altercation with the Volunteers.
As a result, Florida will have three backups start on the offensive line against the 49ers. Jake Slaughter reclaims the starting center role he manned in Eguakun's absence over the first two weeks of the year, while true freshman Knijeah Harris and grad transfer Lyndell Hudson II take on the starting right guard and right tackle duties, respectively.
Hayden Hansen (Y) and Arlis Boardingham (H) will start at tight end, with Jonathan Odom in rotation at each spot until Zanders returns in the second half.
Additionally, redshirt freshman Deuce Spurlock II remains unavailable for unknown reasons, as he has been throughout the entirety of the 2023 campaign.
