Florida Gators 2021 Recruiting Target, S Corey Collier Jr. Narrows List to 3
Just days after landing a verbal commitment from Peters Township safety Donovan McMillon, the Florida Gators head up yet another top-teams list for a Miami Palmetto (Miami, Fla.) safety Corey Collier Jr.
Collier, a Sports Illustrated All-American candidate, lists the Gators along with the Miami Hurricanes and the LSU Tigers.
His new final list comes just a week after announcing his commitment date which will take place on August 10th. It is not yet known whether or not Collier will announce via social media or hold an event to announce his final decision.

As part of the 'Palmetto 5' group, Collier is one of the most highly sought-after safeties in the nation and has been on the Gators' recruiting board for quite some time, originally being offered by Florida in October of 2018. Since then, Collier has taken multiple trips to Gainesville, including most recently during the team's junior day event in March.
Following the tour, Collier spoke with Sports Illustrated - All Gators' Zach Goodall to give a quick recap, mentioning that the Gators were near the top of his list along with the Clemson Tigers. Clemson is no longer on his radar, however, it appears.
"This day, by itself, kind of just boosted Florida," Collier continued before mentioning his family's takeaways from the visit in March. "They said they're convinced too, more convinced about Florida, so that's good for me and them to be on the same page."
In May, Collier broke down his final six teams, which included Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Florida, LSU and Georgia. Now, only three remain.
Below, you will find a quick bottom-line evaluation from the Sports Illustrated All-American scouting team, illustrating what exactly Gators fans and spectators should expect from Collier if he were to commit to the Orange and Blue.
Collier, the son of former Florida State defensive back Cornelius Collier, has the makeup of a versatile secondary prospect with an extremely high floor. His athleticism won’t jump off the page but he compensates with incredible savvy, ball skills and sheer play-making ability that gets defenses off the field on third down. Collier projects as a signal-calling deep safety with the advanced technique to hold up in man coverage as needed.
