Florida running back commit and West Point (Miss.) High prospect Kahnen Daniels reaffirmed his allegiance to the Gators on Tuesday, stating that his recruitment has been "100%" shut down in a fashion similar to UF safety pledges Xavier Filsaime and Josiah Davis' Monday announcements

"I'm a Florida Gator," Daniels wrote via Twitter, days after his June 16-18 official visit in Gainesville.

Like Filsaime and Davis, Daniels' confirmation follows a seven-commitment run for Florida recruiting between Saturday and Monday, featuring tight end Amir Jackson, offensive lineman Marcus Mascoll, edge rusher Jamonta Waller, defensive linemen Amaris Williams, Nasir Johnson and Michai Boireau, and linebacker Aaron Chiles.

Daniels' decision to shut things down eases concern over the future of Florida's running back position, coming just over a week after former UF pledge Chauncey Bowens flipped his commitment to SEC-rival Georgia on June 10.

Of note, Daniels paid Michigan State an official visit the week prior to Bowens' move, from June 2-4, but the Gators were able to fend off the Spartans from poaching one of UF's backfield commitments as the Bulldogs did.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Daniels is considered the No. 29 running back and No. 337 overall prospect in the class of 2024 by the 247Sports composite rankings. Learn more about Daniels' recruitment and high school career from his All Gators biography below.

Forming a one-two punch with Bowens in the future of Florida's backfield, Daniels committed to the Gators over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Oregon among other programs. A do-it-all talent for his high school, Daniels aligned as a true running back (although less often than in other capacities), Wildcat quarterback and even wide receiver in order to get the ball into his hands during his junior 2022 season. The results were 2,032 rushing yards, 24 touchdowns and ten yards per carry on average.
