Florida lost another commitment from its once No. 3 ranked 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday as Dublin, Ga., defensive lineman Nasir Johnson flipped his pledge to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Johnson becomes the third player to dissociate himself from the Gators in favor of another SEC program since Nov. 11, following edge rusher Jamonta Waller (Auburn) and cornerback Wardell Mack (Texas, which joins the conference next season)

The Gators took an early interest in the No. 27 defensive lineman and No. 208 overall player in the class, luring him onto campus for a June 16-18 official visit, where he pledged himself to Florida.

The 6-foot-4.5, 300-pound trench man was slated to occupy the three-technique role for UF's front to maximize his impressive combination of size and athleticism.

However, Johnson continued to scour his options throughout his five-month commitment to Florida, ultimately electing to unite with the reigning two-time national champions and remain in the Peach State for his collegiate career.

As a result, the Gators are left without a defined interior defensive line pledge following Michai Boireau's decommitment in September, although UF continues to pursue the Hampton (Ga.) Creekside nose tackle heavily down the stretch. Spencer is competing with Auburn, Georgia and Michigan for his services.

Five-star Mainland (Daytona Beach, Fla.) High product LJ McCray possesses the frame and ability to move inside if needed, but currently projects to operate at the F-end role in Austin Armstrong's defense. He, Clinton, N.C., defensive end Amaris Williams and Buchholz High School (Gainesville, Fla.) defensive end Kendall Jackson are the lone players standing along the defensive front.

It is currently unclear who the Gators will target to replace the attrition amid an underachieving 5-5 (3-4 SEC) year on the field.
