Florida Makes the Cut for Blue-Chip DL Jeremiah Beaman

Gators contending amid SEC-heavy list of programs for Alabama native

And then there were 10.

In what has become one of the most contested recruitments in SEC and ACC country this spring, Jeremiah Beaman has trimmed his list of options down by more than half.

The Florida Gators were among the programs to receive good news when the Birmingham (Ala.) Parker standout posted the top schools on Sunday evening. UF is flanked by Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Auburn and Texas among SEC programs alone. Clemson, Florida State and Colorado round out the group.

Ranked as a top 100 overall recruit by both On3 and 247Sports, Beaman has seen his stock rise across the industry of late. The 6-foot-5, 255-pound line prospect, who also plays basketball for Parker, even played some tight end as a junior in 2022.

Yet to take in Gainesville as a prospect to this point, Florida's next step to stay in the game seems obvious after the rising senior saw four of his top programs in the last week alone.

In the meantime, Sean Spencer is building a one-on-one relationship with potentially the next Gator get out of the Yellowhammer State after headliners Kelby Collins (2023) and Shemar James (2022) among those Billy Napier's staff has landed from the state.

"Coach Spencer is a very funny guy,"  Beaman recently told All Gators. "We chop it up all the time. We have a good relationship, and just he's very detailed, so he knows what he's talking about and how he wants things or how he would want things to fit me if I was to go there."

Beaman does not yet have a firm timetable for a verbal commitment, though official visit plans are developing for the summer months.
