RB Kahnen Daniels Signs With Florida

West Point (Miss.) running back Kahnen Daniels put pen to paper on Wednesday, making his commitment to the Gators official.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Mississippi-based running back prospect Kahnen Daniels officially signed with the Gators on Wednesday as part of Early National Signing Day.

Running backs coach Jabbar Juluke set his eyes on the talented four-star early in the 2024 cycle as the on-field assistant vied to continue stacking talent in the important backfield corps within Florida's offensive structure. Daniels reciprocated the early interest from the University of Florida with several visits to Gainesville throughout the spring, building a strong rapport with head coach Billy Napier and company.

He committed to the Gators on April 10 and has remained steadfast in his pledge despite several other programs — namely Mississippi schools — vying for his services.

Performing as a versatile athlete in the West Point High School offense over four varsity seasons, Daniels served as an uber-productive playmaker with a nose for paydirt.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound ball carrier accounted for 2,484 yards, and 26 touchdowns on 260 carries in his final prep campaign, aiding the Green Wave to an 11-3 record from a multitude of positions — including Wildcat quarterback, wide receiver and in the traditional running back spot he'll occupy at UF full-time.

His impressive senior season output paired with his elusiveness, vision and burst as a rusher, resulted in Daniels receiving a significant boost in his rating per 247Sports, climbing into the top 250 as the No. 19 running back in the class per the composite rankings.

As things stand, Daniels is the lone running back signee in Florida's 2024 class. He'll early enroll to join the Gators for their spring workout regimen.

Daniels committed to the Gators over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, Texas A&M, Michigan State and Mississippi State among other programs. A do-it-all talent for his high school, Daniels has aligned as a true running back, Wildcat quarterback and even wide receiver in order to get the ball into his hands. The results over four seasons of varsity playing time were tremendous: 5,541 rushing yards, 58 touchdowns and 9.9 yards per carry on average. He also threw for eight touchdowns over 88 passing attempts.
