The Gators have been unusually active when it comes to recruiting the northeast to start the year 2023.

In particularly, Florida’s formed a noticeable presence at Our Lady Good Counsel High School in Olney, Md., targeting 2024 LB Aaron Chiles and WR Elijah Moore. However, the efforts haven’t stopped there.

On Friday afternoon, elite 2025 safety prospect from the school Faheem Delane included the Gators in his top 11 — listing them alongside Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, USC and Virginia Tech.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defensive back holds 23 offers from powerhouse programs around the country.

Delane’s decision to trim his list early in his process bodes well for Florida and the other contenders as he’ll narrow his focus onto the 11 schools listed above.

His skillset fits the mold of prospects the Gators have targeted in the third level under Corey Raymond and the new staff: length and athleticism. He adds elite headhunting ability from his safety spot to deliver punishing blows to ball carriers over the middle of the field.

It’s the calling card of his game, and a major reason he’s earn considerable Division-I attention since he was in 7th grade.

The Gators currently hold no commits in the class of 2025, but have been active in the cycle as they attempt to build its foundation in the coming months.

Delane shared with On3’s Chad Simmons that he could commit as early as the upcoming summer, getting his pledge out of the way prior to his junior campaign.

He’ll look to travel to Florida for his first face-to-face meeting with the program. Outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson, his main point of contact at the moment, will attempt to lock him into his first visit to campus during the month of April, where Delane agenda is relatively open.
