FSU Basketball Traveling To California For Two ACC Matchups In 2024-25

The Seminoles will be racking up the frequent flyer miles to face the newest additions to the ACC.

The ACC has released future opponents for the 2024-25 season with the new additions of California, SMU, and Stanford into the league. That means we know who and where Florida State will be playing, even if the dates won't come out until later in the year.

Florida State's home opponents: Clemson, Louisville, Miami, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, SMU, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech.

FSU's away opponents: Clemson, Louisville, Miami, Boston College, California, Duke, NC State, Stanford, Boston College, Virginia, and Wake Forest.

In somewhat typical fashion, the ACC is sending Florida State out west to play both California and Stanford. I imagine those games will happen in the same stretch of days, like a Saturday/Tuesday on the same weekend to limit travel as best they can. It will be the first time they've played at either school. Florida State will also play three games at the North Carolina schools, playing at Duke, NC State, and Wake Forest.

The only teams FSU will play twice next year are Clemson, Louisville, and Miami, with Clemson and Miami being FSU's "permanent rivals," meaning they'll play twice every year as long as FSU remains in the ACC. SMU will come back to the Tucker Center after beating FSU in the Tuck this past December. The players left on FSU's roster will want that one back.

One nice thing is that FSU won't have to travel to some of their usual trap road arenas like Pitt, Georgia Tech, or Virginia Tech. It usually doesn't matter how good or bad their opponents are, those are buildings that have historically been really hard to win at for Florida State.
