Recently, the Associated Press announced the release date of their preseason top 25 which will certainly bring witness to excitement, speculation, and debates surrounding the early favorites and potential dark horses on August 14.

The AP Preseason Top 25 rankings serve as a prelude for what awaits in 2023 and provide a snapshot of how sports analysts and experts perceive a team's potential before they take the stage under the lights. Though these rankings rarely hold true as the season progresses, they do have an impact on a team's reputation, media attention and fan expectations.

It is expected that powerhouses such as Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State will be in the first tier but it wouldn't come as a surprise to see Florida State in the top 10 along with their week one opponent.

College football is known for its unpredictability year in and year out, which is the main reason why some fans love the sport so much. There will be no shortage of controversy, giving people a chance to debate and scrutinize their team's placement and the perceived underrating and overrating of who made the list altogether. It also gives a chance for underdogs to challenge the polls which should provide some inspiring showdowns and upsets.

Florida State hasn't been in the preseason top 25 since 2018 when they entered the season ranked No. 19. The team is coming off its first 10-win season since 2016, earning them a final ranking of No. 11. Many experts are highly optimistic about what the 'Noles can accomplish this year.
