BREAKING: FSU Football Secures Coveted Alabama Football Offensive Line Transfer

The Seminoles are making a big addition upfront - literally.

Florida State is returning a veteran group of offensive linemen but the coaching staff has scoured the NCAA Transfer Portal to add further depth to the unit. That seems to be the right move after the Seminoles were decimated by injuries upfront throughout the 2023 season.

On Thursday, the program landed one of its top targets in the portal when former Alabama offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson II announced that he was transferring to Florida State. A former top-100 prospect, Ferguson II joins the Seminoles with two seasons of eligibility remaining after displaying some of his potential in spurts with the Crimson Tide.

The Georgia native appeared in five games, contributing at both guard spots while making the first start of his career in Alabama's win over USF this past season. He graded out as the second-best pass blocker on the Crimson Tide's roster behind JC Latham, who is expected to be a top draft pick in April.

Former FSU Linebacker Returning Closer To Home In Transfer Portal

During his three years in Tuscaloosa, Ferguson II appeared in 11 games, with one start. He was at Florida State for an official visit over the weekend where he spent ample time with head coach Mike Norvell, offensive line coach and offensive coordinator Alex Atkins, and the rest of the staff. Ferguson II will likely contribute along the interior in Tallahassee at either guard spot or center.

The 6-foot-4, 322-pound offensive lineman is regarded as the No. 132 overall prospect and the No. 3 IOL in the transfer portal, earning him a four-star distinction, according to 247Sports. He was ranked as the No. 58 overall prospect, the No. 2 IOL, and the No. 6 recruit in the state of Georgia in the 2021 class.

Florida State adds Ferguson II to a room that includes redshirt senior Darius Washington, redshirt senior Robert Scott, redshirt senior Maurice Smith, redshirt senior Keiondre Jones, redshirt senior Jeremiah Byers, redshirt sophomore Jaylen Early, redshirt sophomore Julian Armella, and redshirt freshman Lucas Simmons, among others.

Ferguson II is the eleventh transfer to join the Seminoles since December. The program has also added former Georgia defensive end Marvin Jones Jr, former Oregon State/Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, former LSU wide receiver Jalen Brown, former Alabama cornerback Earl Little Jr., former Colorado State defensive tackle Grady Kelly, former Indiana running back Jaylin Lucas, former Miami defensive back Davonte Brown, former Alabama wide receiver Malik Benson, former West Virginia defensive end Tomiwa Durojaiye, and former Oregon State defensive end Sione Lolohea over the last few weeks.
