ESPN Ranks FSU's Jordan Travis in Elite Company for 2023's College Football Season
With spring camp's hand planted firmly in the ground at the one-yard line, all eyes are looking ahead to the fall of 2023. Predictions and projections are flying around like darts trying to pinpoint who will be the top quarterback come September. Among those daggers hurling through the air is Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis, whose name stands out in the nation's elite as he enters his final year in Tallahassee.
ESPN released a top-10 list of signal callers, and the man with the number 13 on his jersey checked in at No. 5 behind UNC's Drake Maye and USC's Caleb Williams.
Travis became the fourth Florida State player with at least 3,000 total yards and 30 total touchdowns last season, joining the three Heisman Trophy winners in school history (Charlie Ward in 1993, Chris Weinke in 2000 and Winston in 2013). That is pretty good company.
"We know what we are doing out here right now," Travis said after his first spring practice this year, "I gotta come out here with a smile on my face; that's my job as a quarterback and leader of this football team."

Last year, Travis threw for 3,214 yards and 24 touchdowns to five interceptions leading a Seminole team to 10 wins and a bowl victory, an accomplishment that the garnet and gold haven't had since 2016. The offense as a whole finished seventh in the country, per pff.com. It will showcase another star-studded cast mixed with transfers like tight end Jaheim Bell and freshmen like wide receivers Vandrevious Jacobs and Hykeem Williams.
The conference is up for grabs under head coach Mike Norvell as the 'Noles look to make a playoff berth in 2023.
