Florida State Defensive Lineman Braden Fiske Shares Hilarious Jared Verse Story

The Florida State Seminoles defensive lineman transfer got his first sack, but not without the help of Jared Verse.

The Florida State Seminoles have been notorious for recruiting through the transfer portal. Mike Norvell has rebuilt his program by adding an influx of talented players to the roster who began their college careers elsewhere.

With the Seminoles now being a title contender, they remain an active threat in the portal. One consistent contributor they added over the offseason was Braden Fiske, a transfer who spent five years at Western Michigan.

Since joining the program, Fiske has turned into a starter in his first nine games at Florida State. He's chipped in 25 total tackles and came away with a sack in his most recent outing against Pittsburgh.

After the win, Fiske shared an incredible story about Jared Verse's reaction to the sack.

"The first thing [Verse] says to me, he doesn't even celebrate, he says 'Oh, that's half, that's half,'" Fiske said. "I can't get away from the guy. I finally get home and I've got this guy's chirping."

It appears the two defensive linemen have an incredible bond, which is great to see given the fact that they've only been teammates for less than a year. It seems as if the locker room is healthy and the players are having fun, despite not having been with the program for an extended duration of time.

"It was awesome," Fiske said. "We can finally share a sack. That's what he's saying now, trying to make me feel better. It was just good to get home finally, you know, finally make a play like that."

Throughout his five seasons of play, Fiske is now up to 14.5 career sacks. Additionally, he's got 1.5 tackles for loss on the season and 28.5 career tackles for loss.

With these guys being transfers, the bong they hold is incredible, and the fun environment is positive for a team trying to make a push for championships, both in the ACC and in the College Football Playoff.
