Florida State head coach Mike Norvell, players talk spring practice No. 2
With the first week of spring practice halfway complete, the Florida State Seminoles have much to look forward to this fall. While the freshmen and transfers get a chance to show off their skills and work ethic, the veterans have a chance to retain their spots on the depth chart and help the newcomers get acclimated to life as a Seminole.

Head coach Mike Norvell along with WR Johnny Wilson, LB Tatum Bethune and DT Fabien Lovett, met with the media on Wednesday to discuss how camp is progressing, the speed at which the new players are developing and more.
With 19 newcomers now on the roster and in the thick of things, Norvell praised his players on their work ethic and efficiency while learning a new system.
"I thought it was a good second day and being able to come out to try to clean up some of the things that we saw from day one, and also you continue to try to push a little bit of the installation of what we're doing. It was good for some of the newcomers." Norvell said, "They're playing an accelerated installation here in spring. You got 19 guys, some in high school, some in college, that I think they've done a great job."
One of the things Norvell has been emphasizing throughout the first week of camp is player technique and the finer details of each position before the actual pads come on this upcoming Friday.
"You're instilling technique; it's an emphasis on fundamentals that are going to allow you to use the power that you have. That's been a big push for us." Norvell added, "I want to make sure they understand their assignments, their footwork, being able to get those first steps, where their hand placement is going. All those elements of it are important."
Norvell goes over the importance of not becoming comfortable, his conversations with Lovett about returning for another year and veteran confidence in his full interview below.
