Florida State QB Jordan Travis Releases Heartbreaking Statement On Being Left Out of CFP
Florida State has put its mark on the last rendition of the four-team playoff era, and, in many ways, it was a historic season for the Seminoles. The 'Noles are a perfect 13-0 and won the ACC Championship on Saturday in a defensive battle that put them atop Louisville 16-6.
Still, battling through adversity after losing starting quarterback Jordan Travis and then backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker, FSU found a way to win, and it seems that the old adage of "good teams find a way to win" has been forgotten in this day of talking heads and pocketbooks.
FSU Athletic Director Michael Alford Condemns Committee Following Historic CFP Snub
The College Football Playoff Committee left the Seminoles out of the 2023 Playoffs for whatever boxed wine reason they deemed fit, and It begs the question of whether or not winning matters anymore. It is ironic when using football cliches like "defense wins championships," among others, to completely about-face when adversity, for whatever reason, the CFP committee folds to.
Florida State's Jordan Travis commented on the matter via Twitter, and his message was heartfelt and showed what the culture at FSU is about in more ways than one.
"Devasted. Heartbroken. In so much disbelief rn, I wish my leg broke earlier in the season so ya'll could see this team is much more than the quarterback. I thought results matter. 13-0 and this roster matches up across any team in those top 4 rankings. I am so sorry. Go Noles!"
Florida State will face No. 6 Georgia in the Orange Bowl and, like the entire 2023 season, will come prepared for the challenge.
