The halfway point of the regular season has arrived as Florida State eyes an ACC matchup against Syracuse. The Orange are 4-2 on the season but remain winless in conference play after coming up short against Clemson and North Carolina. Veteran quarterback Thomas Shrader is the engine that drives Syracuse on offense. He's completed 64.6% of his passes for 1,272 yards with eight touchdowns to five interceptions through the air while rushing 71 times for 368 yards and six more scores.
On Monday morning, Florida State released its updated depth chart for the contest. The Seminoles made a couple of public changes to the two deep prior to their sixth game of the season.
After being removed from the roster on Sunday, redshirt senior wide receiver Winston Wright Jr. is no longer listed on the depth chart. Redshirt junior Ja'Khi Douglas and true freshman Destyn Hill continue to be co-starters in the slot.
That was reflected during the win against the Hokies as Hill started for the first time in his career and recorded one catch for 30 yards on 23 snaps while Douglas came off the bench during his season debut and played 18 snaps.
The Seminoles will also be switching up the kick return unit with Wright Jr. moving on. Deuce Spann and Rodney Hill are now listed as co-starters at one of the spots while Caziah Holmes continues to hold down the other with Destyn Hill as his backup.
Wright Jr. finishes his season with four catches for 36 yards while also contributing on special teams where he returned three kickoffs for 74 yards.
Outside of that, the only other changes on the depth chart are that redshirt senior safety Akeem Dent is now the sole starter at his position and the same can be said for redshirt senior cornerback Jarrian Jones at Nickel.
Dent had previously been listed as a co-starter in the defensive backfield with junior Kevin Knowles. After returning from injury on Saturday, he's seized command of the spot alongside Shyheim Brown. Knowles is a co-backup with Conrad Hussey and KJ Kirkland.
Jones and redshirt junior Greedy Vance were previously co-starters at Nickel.
